Content East becomes Content Budapest as C21 makes long-term commitment to CEE and signs MRM partnership
C21 has changed the name of Content East to Content Budapest as it confirms a long-term commitment to keep the event in the city and a renewed mission to support growth across CEE.
C21 has also signed a consultancy agreement with the team behind MRM, the Kyiv Media Week organiser, which will consult on the event and build out relationships with buyers, commissioners and producers across the region.
Content Budapest will take place at The Kempinski hotel between June 27-29 with a mission to boost new programming relationships across Central and Eastern Europe and connect fresh creativity with international partners.
With this in mind a two-day international coproduction conference will run alongside the market, and a Content Budapest Pitch Competition will aim to uncover fresh shows that can work across markets.
Content Budapest will invite up to 500 key buyers and commissioners from channels across CEE free of charge to the three-day event.
C21 has also confirmed it will host a Boat Party on Wednesday June 28, reviving a tradition born of the now-defunct Discop East.
David Jenkinson, C21’s editor-in-chief & managing director said: “Content Budapest will bring the best of our ‘Content’ format to the CEE market, with an unrivalled conference programme, attached to a vibrant market and screenings, all hosted in the City’s most progressive hotel. We are delighted to be working with the MRM team on the event and look forward to uniting the CEE programming community around an intelligent event with a mission to forge new partnerships.”
Kateryna Udut, CEO of MRM said: “The CEE is one of the most promising regions for the content business, and I’m sure that the upcoming event will bring together the brightest market players to celebrate its creativity and common business opportunities. Having 12-years’ experience behind the KMW forum, we are honoured to contribute to Content Budapest. Also, it’s important move for Ukrainian media community, which has become an integral part of the European market too”
Content Budapest will be managed by the events team responsible for delivering Content London, Content Americas, Content LA among others, and supported by C21’s publishing products and services.
